What Happened?

|
I refused to be dissuaded from
pursuing my goals.
|
|
|
|
The next year, in my junior year,
I was the Texas state 2A pole-vaulting Champion.
|
In my senior year, I tied
for 1st place and was the Texas state 2A pole-vaulting Co-Champion.

I went on to receive a pole-vaulting
scholarship at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas and won 1st place for them in Mexico City my freshman

|
Most recently, the current coach
for my old high school called to invite me into their high school hall of fame. It seems the record
I set there using a steel pole still stands over 40 years later.

|
The Lesson Learned?
|
|
|
|
If you want something bad enough,
don't listen to those who would discourage you from achieving your goals...... even if they are experts
in their fields of knowledge.
|
|
